Writing and Editing

A personal history is both a lifetime’s work and the summary of a lifetime. Further, the dynamics of a family or a firm add richness and complexity to any account.

As such, writing underpins the creation of most histories.  As examples:

A family might want to honor a patriarch or matriarch with a biography or a testimonial booklet, but the account has not been written or organized. Interviews must be conducted and transcribed.

A family might want to publish a book that includes old correspondence, pictures in need of restoration, design, copywriting, and editing to shape it for production and digitization.

A business client might want to create an historical history of his/her firm “from scratch”. Where an established firm might have many materials from which to draw content and copy, a start-up firm might need completely new content.

A client might want a journal turned into a book…and edited so that it is compelling and fluid.

A family might request a written and/or oral summary of the interviewing process and findings that are the basis for its personal history.

Writing and editing services are core deliverables by Hourglass… and key to capturing the true voice of an interviewee. Scope is always customized, and the interviewer’s “goal-first” priority it to provide the highest quality, differentiating content and output.

Ultimately, it is your content, your story, your history…and you’ll control how it is memorialized.
